New to me/ Neu für mich

Our youngest son and I have tried a few fruits that we didn't know before.

I figured we should try something that we are not familiar with and he was all for it.

Somehow it was weird, because he's a bit picky about eating.

Mein jüngster Sohn und ich haben ein paar Früchte gekauft die wir noch nicht kannten .Ich denke man muss auch mal was probieren was einem unbekannt ist. Er war voll dafür, was mich eigentlich überrascht hat da er immer am Essen ‘rumnörgelt.

Today we got a Dragon Fruit. Let me tell you I was shocked about it's price.

4.99$ for one!! Wow!!

I never expected the look on the inside of the fruit. Somehow it's very pretty I think.

Does that justify the price??? No!!

As for taste.... It's ok, kind of like Kiwi without the acidity, but nothing that makes me want to get more of them.

Heute haben wir eine Drachenfrucht gekauft. Ich war total schockiert was eine Frucht kostet! 4.99$ WOW!!
Das Innenleben sieht ja schon sehr hübsch aus aber den Preis rechtfertigt es auch nicht.
Und für den Geschmack? Sie schmeckt ein bischen wie Kiwi, nur nicht so säuerlich.

Ich glaub aber nicht das ich davon noch mehr haben muss…Schade eigentlich!

On Friday we bought a Cactus Pear.

That was interesting as well.

My son and I both had some prickly on our hand by the time we left the store.

Wish I would have know that that can happen....

At home I googled the"How to eat.." to make sure I do it right.

We both had a try , but the many hard seeds are really nasty. I guess if you strain them out it might be ok to eat.

The taste was somewhat boring as well.

The color is great, but otherwise a bit disappointing.

What will we try next??

Am Freitag haben wir eine Kaktusfeige gekauft.

(Hab leider vergessen ein Bild mit Schale zu machen)
Das war auch sehr interessant.

Ich und mein Sohn hatten schon bevor wie aus dem Laden waren kleine Kaktusstachel an den Händen .Ich hätte schon gerne vorher gewusst das das passieren kann…nicht so schön.
Ich hab dann zu Hause erstmal "Wie isst man…” gegoogelt nur um sicher zu gehen das ich nichts falsch mache.
Die Farbe ist echt toll, nur die harten Kernchen sind echt nicht so toll.

Ich denke aber wenn man das Fruchtfleisch durch ein Sieb streicht dann kann man es gut essen.
Der Geschmak war allerdings auch eher langweilig.
Echt schade, ich hatte mich irgendwie auf etwas mit “Wow Faktor” gefreut.

Was wir wohl als nächstes probieren werden…???
