Don't quiet know where to start......

I'm really new to blogging , but like the idea.

I love to talk, so it should not be to difficult to find something to write about, right?

I think I just write about what I'm making at the moment and the stuff that goes on around me. You have to start somewhere, right?

Since I send off my last 2 orders for dolls(Alex and Sam) I can now work on my next doll again. She had to wait for a few weeks now to get something to wear, but her time has come now....

She has no name yet, but here she is anyway....

Isn't she cute??

She has long blond boucle mohair hair and is stuffed with sheep wool.

I plan to use the fabric you see in the background for her clothes.

With the kids at home I don't seem to get to my sewing machine as much as I would like, so I really hope to do some work on the clothes tomorrow.

Besides this I make more Mini Babies .....

  1. Hi Susanne!

Thanks for visiting my weblog! Can I just say I *love* your dolls?? Especially Hanna... her hair is just fabulous, and I really like all the different hair styles you're showing. I hope I'll be able to do that someday! For now, I'm still figuring out how to make a doll's wig that's as versatile as yours. :)

  2. Hi Meike,
thank you for your comment on my dolls. Yours are very cute as well.
I got a doll making video from Joy’s Waldorf Dolls. She describes how to make wigs in it and I found that worked well for me.
My dolls hair is a wig that I crochet. You leave a big loop (depending on the hair length) every 2nd or 3rd stitch . If you like your doll to have lots of hair, then that’s the way to go. I tried a few other methods, but it never looked “natural” .
    Hope this helps.

    Well done - great work!

  4. Hi Sue,

My apologies for the late reply - I've been away on holiday! Thanks so much for letting me know which method you use. I've got Joy's booklet on wig making, and your method is in there as well, so I'm definitely going to give it a try! Thanks again. :)
