Winter is here for sure

Winter has arrived n Northern Ontario and I think it's here to stay too.

I have a few days off and since we had a freezing rain warning this morning I 

wanted to make sure I go and get some branches for decoration and an Advends wreath

Yes, I know the 1. Advend was last Sunday, but I have been so busy with making custom dolls for Christmas and day job that I just didn't get around to it .

So today we, Gromit and me went out in the bush to get some .

 Such a cute little tree .....

 and then this big Cedar tree. Look how small Gromit is beside it.

He's not a small dog.

 He really likes winter. 

Running in the snow, sniffing for things underneath the snow and even grabbing mouthfuls of snow when running.

I like winter too.

Look how pretty even those dead plants look.

Well Gromit and I accomplished what we set out to do.

 I got my branches and

Gromit got his walk in the snow.

 I love it when he has ice hanging from his whiskers.

Have to take a picture on a day when it's really cold.

Those branches smell so nice in the house. I'm off to make the wreath now.

Fall morning ..../Herbst Morgen.....

Sunny fall mornings are beautiful.

With temperatures around the freezing mark on some nights and sunny mornings 

things warm up quickly releasing moisture .

Sonnige Herbstmorgen sind einfach toll.

Wenn die Temperaturen in manchen Naechten um den Gefrierpunk liegen und es dann morgens sonnig ist, dann kann man oft die verdunstende Feuchtigkeit aufsteigen sehen.

 With beautiful weather like that, you just have to go for a walk.

Bei so schoenem Wetter muss man einfach spatzieren gehen.

 The dogs are always up for a walk in the wood as well.

Die Hunde sind auch immer fuer einen Waldspaziergang zu haben.

 I just love it!

Es ist einfach zu schoen!

 Those Canada geese on the field will soon make their way south .

Bald werden diese Kanadagaense ihren Weg in den Sueden antreten.

What I've been up to/Was ich gemacht habe...

The last week was filled with making Mini Babies and doll heads and finishing my new doll blog .

Now the Mini's are listed in my Etsy shop and in the Mainstreet Congo .

I'm starting to get back into things and enjoy it.

Die letzte Woche habe ich damit verbracht Mini Babies zu naehen und Koepfchen zu machen und weiter an meinen neuen Puppen Blog zu arbeiten.

So langsam komme ich wieder in Schwung und es macht auch wieder mehr Spass.

The rest of my time was spend sorting through things, cleaning up an organizing and of course driving kiddos to and from school, shopping,cleaning and some cooking and baking.

Der Rest meiner Zeit wurde dann mit durchsortieren von Sachen,aufraeumen und oragnizieren und natuerlich Kinder zur Schule fahren, abholen ,einkaufen,saubermachen und kochen und backen verbracht.

So today it's time to take it a bit easy and to spend some quality time with my husband!

It rained pretty much most of the week on and off , but today we have some beautiful blue Florida sky and sunshine. Maybe we schould go for a walk on the beach....

Ich denke das ich den heutigen Tag mit meinem Mann verbringen werde!

Es hat mehr oder weniger die ganze Woche geregnet, aber heute haben wir wieder einen wunderschoenen blauen Florida Himmel und Sonnenschein.

Vielleicht sollten wir einen Spatziergang am Strand machen....

Wir feiern heute kanadisches Erntedankfest und geniessen ein drei taegiges Wochenende.

One of those days...../So ein Tag......

This was one of those days where I didn't get any sewing done at all.

Some days just have to be used to get the house in shape and for other things.

Heute war einer dieser Tage wo ich ganz und gar nicht zum naehen gekommen bin.

Manchmal muss man halt auch mal das Haus wieder auf Vorderman bringen und andere Sachen machen.

I washed the dogs again as well.

Usually I don't believe in washing dogs every couple of weeks, but at the moment it is necessary .Our male dog Gromit seems to react to something and licks and he's chewing the hair of his feet . I'ts hard to find out what it could be. It comes and goes, but it's nasty this time.

I give him Benadryl and that takes the redness away. Since he licks a lot, the dog smell is really strong and so he gets washed . Washing soothes it somewhat too I feel and I got some bitter spray to keep him from licking.

Ich habe ausserdem die Hunde gewaschen.

Normalerweise bin ich nicht dafuer das Hunde staendig gewaschen werden, aber im Moment ist es echt notwendig.

Unser Hund Gromitscheint auf irgendwas allergisch zu reagieren und leckt und kaut die Haare an seinen Pfoten ab. Es kommt und geht. Sein Maul ist auch geroetet und manchmal auch um seine Augen.

Ich gebe ihm ein Antihystamin und das hilft auch. Da er viel leckt , riecht er auch dementsprechend mehr nach Hund und so muss er dann halt gewaschen werden. Waschen lindert auch und ich habe ein Bitterspray gekauft das ihn davon abhaelt zu lecken.

Poor pooch.

We did not change anything with the food or environment ......

I almost think it is something seasonal, but who knows. So you do what you can to help him and then one of a sudden it's one again.

Armes Hundchen.

Wir haben weder das Futter noch irgendetwas anderes geaendert und ich glaube das es Saison bedinngt ist. Wer weiss ob man je dahinter kommt. So tut man was man kann und dann ist es ploetzlich wieder weg.

I can show you what I'm working on right now when I don't clean house , drive kids or wash dogs. :0)

Ich kann euch nun noch zeigen woran ich im Moment arbeite wenn ich nich sauber mache,Kinder 'rum fahre oder Hunde wasche. :0)

What a beautiful day/Was fuer ein schoener Tag

What a wonderful day we had today.

Was fuer einen schoenen Tag wir heute hatten.

I went with my neighbor and the dogs for a nice walk in the morning.

Morgens war ich mit meiner Nachbarin und den Hunden auf einem sehr schoenen Spatziergang.

I love these flowers that are blooming all around the area.

Ich finde diese Blumen so schoen. Die bluehen hier ueberall im Moment.

We saw this cool huge( 2.5 inches!!!! ) Rhinoceros beetle

Wir haben unterwegs diesen riesigen (6,5 cm!!!) Nashornkaefer gesehen.

Later I gave the dogs a bath outside.

Spaeter habe ich die Hunde draussen gebadet.

Gromit is not a big fan of this, but he's co-operating !

I got a picture of him shaking.... it looks so weird. :0)

Gromit ist kein grosser Fan von dieser Sache , aber er hat es sich gefallen lassen.

Ich hab ein Bild machen koennen wie er sich geschuettelt hat... sieht so komisch aus. :0)

Look how Bailey sits among the flowers...well she's looking for lizards.

Guckt mal wie Bailey zwischen den Blumen sitzt....sie guckt wieder nach Eidechsen.

Our youngest son has now taken on the lawn mowing and he's doing a great job!

Unser Juengster ist nun unser" Rasenmaeher" und macht das echt toll!

I did some watering of my plants in and around the house.

The mailman brought me my win from Cozy Homemaking today too.

It came all the way from France!!!

Der Postbote hat mir heute auch meinen Gewinn von Cozy Homemaking gebracht.

Es kam aus Frankreich! :0)

Our bananas started to look a bit brownish...

Unsere Bananen fangen an etwas braun auszusehen....

so I decided to make some Banana Pecan Muffin.

also habe ich mich kurzerhand entschlossen Bananen Pecan Muffin zu backen.

They are soooo good!!

Die sind soooo lecker!!!

After school the youngest went in the pool.

It's still a bit cool, but warming up every day a bit more.

Nach der Schule ist der Juengste dann im Pool schwimmen gegangen.

Es ist zwar immer noch etwas kuehl,aber es wird schon jeden Tag etwas waermer.

Gromit only fishes his ball out.

Gromit fischt nur seinen Ball aus dem Wasser.

Bailey prefers to check on the lizard's

Bailey guckt lieber nach Eidechsen.

This plane,an Osprey, was practicing starting and landing at the near by airport.

Dieses Flugzeug, ein Osprey hat starten und landen an nahegelegenen Flughafen geuebt.

I noticed this wasp starting a nest on the patio.

It's beautiful, but we will have to take care of that....

One of our kids is allergic to wasps and hornets.

Mir ist aufgefallen das ein paar Hornissen sich ein Nest auf unserer Terrasse bauen.

Es ist schon huebsch, aber wir muessen uns darum kuemmern, da einer unsere Kinder auf Wespen und Hornissen allergisch ist.

I promised the dogs that we go to the beach today, and so we went right after breakfast to the only beach that allows dogs around here! It's about 40 min from our house!!

Ich hatte den Hunden versprochen das wir heute an den Strand gehen , und so sind wir dann zum einzigen Strand in der Gegend gefahren wo man Hunde mitbringen darf.

Der Strand ist ca.40 Minuten von unserem Haus entfernt.

There were only a few people and dogs on the beach. Just the way I like it. :0)

Es waren nur ein paar Leute und Hunde am Strand. Genauso wie ich es mag!! :0)

The dogs had a great time!

Den Hundchen hat es sehr gut gefallen!
